This is a link to a conference held in Uppsala last spring. The title of the conference was Big Brother and Empowered Sisters: The Role of New Communication Technologies in Democratic Processes.

Mittuniversitet i projekt att snabbt få igång distansutbildning för lärare

Jag hittade länken till projektets hemsida. Projektet finansieras av SPIDER och leds av Bengt Nykvist. Som lärplattform används Moodle. Mittuniversitetet bidrar med kompetens inom IT-stödd lärarutbildning på distans. Det handlar om hur interaktion och kommunikation hanteras på Internet och om hur Internetbaserade kurser skall utformas för att bli framgångsrika. I de skolor som inte har tillgång till Internet och datorer kommer mobiltelefoner att användas i stället. Projektet finansieras av SPIDER (Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions).
Det skulle vara intressant att höra Bengt prata om läget i Tanzania både där det gäller: IKT allmänt, mobil lärande och hur det fungerar med Moodle kursen.

EU Report on policy coherence for development

På dg communitites hemsida hittade jag denna rapport som beskrevs nedan
”Policies other than development cooperation have a strong impact on developing countries. The European Union (EU) concept of Policy Coherence for Development (PCD) aims to build synergies between those policies and development objectives. This in turn will increase the effectiveness of development aid. Against the backcloth of the EU commitment to substantially increase official development assistance, the importance of ensuring that these resources are not rendered inefficient or wasted by policy incoherence is even greater.
The aim of this report is to shed some light on progress made by the EU in promoting a higher degree of coherence between the main policies that affect developing countries as well as to identify the main outstanding issues to be considered for further action.”

Jag tror att en blogg kan vara av hjälp i en organisation. Detta är något som vi kommer att diskutera nästa vecka men jag vill passa på att lägga in några adresser till intressanta blogg exempel. Det första är från Umeå unversitets pedagogiska centrum.. UPCs blogg är för personalen. De turas om med ansvar för skrivandet. En annan typ blog är en ”rektorsblogg” som Mittuniversitetets rektor skriver.

Uppföljning: One laptop per child

På den Eldis Community hemsidan kom jag på denna video bland hemsidans blogg om ”Video for development”. Video handlar  om en pilot projekt i Etiopien om den One laptop per child projekt. Det är intressant att se hur det fungerar i praktiken.
